Cadillac Super Cruise works only on the expressway and will come as an option on some 2018 versions of the Cadillac Escalade and the Cadillac CT6. It is a standard feature on the 2018 CT6 Platinum and can be added when purchasing other trim levels. It offers drivers the first-ever automatic, hands-free driving experience for the highway.
To get started, drivers must first get their vehicle safely on the expressway. Cadillac Super Cruise will indicate when it's ready with a symbol near the speedometer. Then, the driver can turn the system on using a steering wheel control.
When the Cadillac Super Cruise system is operational, a green light will turn on in the steering wheel. Then all the driver has to do is let go and let the car take over.
Cadillac Super Cruise will safely navigate the vehicle in traffic, monitoring speeds and other vehicles. It does require the driver to look at the road however, and if it senses that you're too distracted, an increasing number of alarms will sound to get your attention, ranging from a flashing light to audible alarm sounds to seat vibrations.
