You'll find that the Cadillac XT5 enjoys a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price that's lower than that of the Audi Q5, so you can save almost $1,000 right away -- or use the savings to add an optional package. When you consider that both SUVs deliver nearly the same EPA-estimated city fuel economy, your overall cost of ownership should still be lower with the XT5 than the Q5.

When you're driving around the greater Chicago area, you're going to want to be sure that your SUV can deliver power when and where you need it most. Here's another area where the XT-5 outperforms is Audi rival, as the Cadillac's 3.6-liter V6 engine makes 310 horsepower -- besting the 252 horsepower managed by the Audi's 2.0-liter four-cylinder. That kind of pickup can't help but come in handy when you're trying to make your way from Joliet to Oak Brook.

When it comes to standard features, both SUVs come with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, backup camera, Bluetooth® streaming, remote key-less entry, low tire pressure warning, universal garage door opener and more. However, the Cadillac XT5 includes standard features such as remote engine start, rear parking aid, power driver mirror and heated exterior mirrors that the Audi either doesn't offer or requires you to pay extra for.

Finally, both SUVs come with a 4-year/50,000-mile basic new car warranty -- but the XT5 offers much better drive-train and roadside assistance coverage.

    Cadillac XT5 vs. BMW X3

    One again, the XT5 enjoys the lower Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price, coming in over $2,000 less than this German rival. That's money that can be devoted to other things, or put toward adding more optional features you may want.

    The XT5 again bests its competitor when you compare performance, as the BMW comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that can only produce 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque -- far less than the 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque that the 3.6-liter V6 in the XT5 generates.

    Again, both SUVs include the standard touches you expect of a luxury SUV, but the XT5 adds more -- despite having the lower MSRP. With the XT5, you get standard cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear parking aid and remote engine start -- all features that BMW either charges extra for or doesn't offer at all on the base X3.
